In-House Instructor Course
Outline: This is a five day course, where the candidate must have an operators’ certificate from an Accredited Training Company (i.e. not an In House certificate) and have attended a refresher course within the last 6 months prior to application. Upon completion, the In House Instructor can then train and test their company’s employees only on trucks / equipment for which they themselves have an operators certificate from an Accredited Training Company
Objectives: Throughout the course, the candidate will be assessed via several means, including a written test on Health and Safety at Work, recommendations of training and instructional techniques, as well as undertaking an operators test on Slinger Banksman machinery. They will then demonstrate their teaching ability by leading a classroom lesson and they will be required to complete relevant paperwork and reports as part of this qualification
In-House Trainer Course
Outline: This course is designed for anyone who has the responsibility for passing on skills and knowledge and developing the attitudes of others regardless of skill level, job description or nature of work. During the course you will have the opportunity to practice planning and delivering a short training session on a subject of your choice, which you will refine during the programme based on constructive feedback. You will leave our Train the Trainer course with an action plan for delivering effective training courses
Objectives: This course will cover modules including the management of difficult individuals and team dynamics, as well as all the basics needed to help convey the points that you are trying to put across. Each delegate will have the opportunity to practice delivering their chosen subject as part of this course qualification
Vehicle Banksman
Outline: This course aims to provide an understanding of Regulations and current guidance related to the responsible persons for vehicle manoeuvring and reversing operations, including HASAWA, MHASAW, PUWER, The Workplace (HS&W) Regulations Safety Signs Regulations, HSG 136 and INDG148
Objectives: On completion of training, candidates will have a theoretical understanding of their responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, PUWER 98, and they will also gain a knowledge of the Banksman safety code, procedures and vehicle movement risk assessment. Other topics covered are PPE and the manoeuvre, signalling and control of the Banksman
Overhead Gantry Crane Training
Outline: To provide the theoretical and practical knowledge to safely operate an overhead crane with pendant or remote control operating system
Objectives: Upon completion of the course, delegates will have gained an understanding of basic lift plans and applicable legislation including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, operator safety code, LOLER and PUWER. They will also have received training on component part maintenance, operation and use of the crane in a variety of applications
Slinger Banksman
Outline: This slinger banksman course aims to provide delegates with the knowledge of how to safely guide crane operators with hand and radio signals and allow personnel to carry out basic slinger procedures safely, whilst informing them of the latest legislations for safe operation
Objectives: Upon completion, delegates will have gained a knowledge of how to work safely with loads and how to carry out pre and post use checks to ensure safe practices whilst operating machinery. They will also learn relevant legislation, how to carry out a thorough inspection and their loading limits
